Stevie Nicks concert review LA House Of Blues December 28, 1999
by Kristen
Hi everyone! It's a quarter to one and I just got back from the House of Blues. First of all, to anyone going tomorrow, or on the 3rd or the 4th, MAKE A RESERVATION!!!!! People who make reservations (for dinner) get to line up first and get the first shot at the best places to stand. If you don't, you have to stand outside in line until all the people who had reservations are let into the Music Hall area. I just wanted to let you all know! Now, on to the show.

Stevie was FABULOUS!!!! She sounds better than ever! She was cheerful and playful, and really engaged the audience. She was also very talkative. Lots of energy and smiles. Here is the set list: Outside the Rain/ Dreams, Enchanted, Gold Dust Woman, Gold and Braid, ROOMS ON FIRE, Stand Back, Rhiannon (the kick-ass, full-on, rock-out version), Whole Lotta Trouble, Landslide, Edge of Seventeen, I Need To Know, Has Anyone Ever Written.... I think she was energized by the crowd, who was really enthusiastic. Her wardrobe was awesome too... Her basic outfit was black; the top was a bustier style similar to what she wore on the Enchanted Tour, but had transparent, glittering sleeves; her skirt was layered velvet burnout and chiffon. Out came the shawls: the gold Gold Dust Woman, the red Rooms On Fire, the black and gold Stand Back. For Rhiannon she wore a top with long flowing black chiffon sleeves, reminiscent of the old Rhiannon dress. For Whole Lotta Trouble she put on a long black beaded maxi coat that had long fringe all around the edges, which she wore through Landslide as well. Then came out the white fringed Edge of Seventeen shawl. And then for I Need To Know, she was back down to her original top. Then for Has Anyone Ever Written, she wore a long beautiful white lace shawl that glittered either with silver beading or sequins (I wasn't close enough to see). When the spotlight shined on her it was amazing!
Her voice has never been stronger, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to see her. Her band was excellent, and her guitar player had a cold, so throughout the show she would cross her fingers (like they do against vampires in the movies) at him. She danced and played around with the band a lot, but no spins! I hope someone taped this show, because it was a classic. The whole thing was awesome. Well, that's all for now, I'm exhausted!
