Christine Perfect/John McVie/Mick Fleetwood/Jeremy Spencer/Danny Kirwan

From: David Amos, Scotland
"Just found these after all these years. I think the year was 1970/71 just before Jeremy left the band, we met them in the Caledonian Hotel in Aberdeen before the gig at the Music Hall."

John McVie/Peter Green/Jeremy Spencer

From: Alix, Netherlands
"Just found this souvenir from Fleetwood Mac's first live gig given in Holland in September 1968 (the days of Mr.Wonderful). Showcasing before the Mac was a dutch band called "Livin' Blues" whose drummer later joined another dutch, slightly more popular group called Golden Earring.

I remember being totally struck by the fact they had brought in a new third guitar player, Danny Kirwan - back in the days, being a seventeen year old aspiring blues guitar player myself I thought it was so cool for such a young guy to be part of one of the greatest bands I knew, at the time, it gave me hope. They played Albatross and I remember everyone was thinking Whoa what's this? This ain't Blues, more like the Shadows or the Ventures .... but hey coming from these guys it made all the difference, these were guitar heroes especially Peter Green. I remember Jeremy Spencer's foot tapping, Mick's two wooden balls hanging in his crotch, Danny's incredible sweating and Peter's Les Paul unbelievable nasal tone, ouch!

Right after the last song of the gig I rushed backstage into a small room that was jam packed with all sorts of groupies trying to secure a handshake, a photograph or a minute of fame, whatever... And in less than thirty seconds it seemed I managed to get three autographs (from left to right) John McVie, Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer.

At a later date somewhere in the winter of 1969 (or was it February 1970) I saw them again in Lausanne Switzerland - in those days they were selling out clubs in the UK and elsewhere on the continent - but when they played Lausanne they had probably thought they were going to sell out the biggest hall they could book and as it turned out there was hardly anyone there in this huge concert hall so when the band came onto the stage they asked everyone who had been seated according to the price of their tickets to come up to the front beside the stage and they gave us one of the best concerts I had ever witnessed till then - they were cooking and just fabulous! I've got some pictures of that gig as well taken with an Instamatic.... A wall of Fender amps and the best sound ever! And last but not least they played "The Green Manalishi" and "Oh Well" ... As an encore they even invited people onto the stage to dance and boogie an in no time there were twenty or so of us on the stage, boogying, all males - no women, weird.... some guy even started playing Peter's guitar while it was still hanging round his neck; man this guy wrapped his arms around Peter and played his guitar and Peter just raised his arms in the air to make room for him as if he had been hijacked, all with a big smile on his face of course - but really he looked quite embarassed because this bloke was really good as it happened. I'll never forget that incident.... If you're interested I could also try to look up those old pictures.

Anyway that's the story of my encounters with Fleetwood Mac, in the good ol days when they were still a bluesband... later, I sort of lost interest when Peter Green left.... he was the man!" -- Cheers Alix

Peter Green

Signed at Splinter Group Edinburgh UK gig, May 2000

"Peter Green signed my Vaudeville Years Box set. He signed it with his full name Peter Greenbaum .When I asked him to sign it, he looked at the picture and laughed saying "I didn't look like that". I meet him outside the gig he was playing in Edinburgh on 8th of May 2000. An autograph hunter who was outside the show bumped in to me a week later and offered me £50 for my box set."
