October 1st, 2001 - Chronicle Pavilion, Concord, CA

by Russell Cook

An almost full moon loomed above Chronicle Pavilion on October 1st, as an ever youthful Stevie appeared on stage.

The sounds of "Trouble In Shangri-La" were echoing throughout the arena. This was my first Stevie concert at 23 years old, and I have to say I was spellbound.

I had been a fan since I first heard Landslide-The Dance in 1997 when my Mom, a huge fan since the Rumours era, told me to listen to the songs. Then, there I was looking at the gypsy herself draped in an orange shawl, beneath black lights, twirling, and belting out the chorus to "Gold Dust Woman".

It truly was an evening to remember, especially hearing Stevie laugh so hard as she told her stories. It was good to hear that she had a good time performing for the die hard Nicks/Mac fans, as well as for us Nicks/Mac virgins. The only drawback was not seeing "Outside the Rain" performed, since I heard that it was incredible performed live.

Keep up the good work Stevie.
