FANS ARE NOW RATING THE SHOWS AS WELL

1-5

5 BEING THE BEST

by Pete Pantelis

The Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, CT was turned into the
Buckingham Guitar Palace last night!

Out of the 3 previous Lindsey solo shows I've seen, this show was the
best. Lindsey's guitar tech was busy all night behind the amps setting
up his new guitars between songs. The addition of Walfredo Reyes on the
Under The Skin Tour has solidified this band.
Lindsey showed the slightest bit of vocal strain, a little bit pitchy,
at the beginning of the show, but quickly worked it out and sounded as
strong as ever.

Although the show was not sold out - there were some empty seats around
us at orchestra center and in the balcony - there was plenty of enthusiasm.

Lindsey and the band took leave during World Turning for an excellent
drum and percussion solo performance by Reyes.
Absolutely the best solo I've heard on that song - better than Mick
Fleetwood's electronic drum extravaganza. This guy rocks the house down!!

I made my way up to the front of stage during the encores. Lindsey
autographed a few of copies of the new CD as well as a vinyl copy of
Rumours for a girl right in front of me. He was VERY gracious, the most
personable, relaxed and talkative with the audience that I have ever
seen him. He struck up a rapore with a younger girl in front of the
stage who was making sort of slightly crude comments about what "Gift Of
Screws" really meant. Lindsey was quick to point out the Emily Dickenson
reference. Then someone yelled out that they "should go get a room"! But
Lindsey laughed, shook his head emphatically and very diplomatically
said "oh no, thanks but no thanks!!!"

At one point in between encore songs there was some kind of low
frequency feedback going on and Lindsey kind of stopped and identified
the problem as "that's 160(hz) - sounds like 160." The sound guys
quickly got rid of the issue. I asked the sound board engineer after if
Lindsey was right about the 160hz and he said yes, but just kind of
sloughed it off and said that's usually what the problem is anyway. ie,
that Lindsey's determination was nothing unique.

The show ended with a beautiful performance of Time Precious Time -
just Lindsey and his guitar. Just a few precious feet away from me.
