5 BEING THE BEST

Rated "5" by Michelle

I went to Fleetwood Mac because my friend is a HUGE fan and she had really got me listening to them (neither of us had been before--being high school students, our budgets are limited :). We had floor seats (tenth row, middle section) and though we were both short (I'm 5'1" and she's 5'0") the people in front of us sat down sometimes and we had an incredible view of the stage! We danced the entire time, singing all the songs. Neither of us sat down once. It was so much fun!

She said her favorite performance was "Stand Back," the entire show was incredible but one of my favorites had to have been "Say Goodbye" simply because of the Lindsey/Stevie interaction (there were times where it seemed they were having trouble singing). Some highlights that made it even more fun: Lindsey was having trouble with one of his guitars and they had to stop before either the second or third song to fix it. Stevie was standing at her mic and said, "One second" and put her hands on her hips and sighed with a smile. It was quite humorous. At another point, managed to get up on the stage and was jumping up and down near Stevie who was singing. Lindsey was giving great guitar solos-- absolutely incredible. I think he even broke a string or two (I know he did the second night in Worcester). And Mick with his jacketed drums was fabulous ("Are you ready Boston-Worcester?"). There was so much energy there! It was amazing to see them (all in their fifties) dancing and twirling, Lindsey slamming on his guitar, Mick banging his drums.

It was great. We're going to try and get tickets for another concert. Definitely a must-see event! :)

I would say it was a five but my wife thought they were a little harder edged without Christine McVie.

I liked Lindsey rocking out like a madman, I mean Mick does it all the time. The opening was good as well, the new songs were better than I expected. I really liked Peacekeeper. Steve Nicks still blows me away no matter what her age. Her really strong way of laying into her staple songs is just amazing. Stevie singing Landslide is so much better than the Dixie Chicks because she is experiencing the getting older that she is talking about in the song.

I loved Don't Stop and Mick's showman solos. John McVie is able but he has lost a step in comparison to the others. Overrall we loved it and so did the rest of the Centrum that night.

Wow! I just attended the best concert of my life!

I had seats on the floor and managed to sneak up even closer to the stage. The feeling was definitely magical in the Centrum. All the songs were fantastic and I was excited to hear one of my favorite songs "Beautiful Child" live. Stevie and Lindsey's harmonies were as awesome as they are on C.D. I was dancing all night even though I know I'm an awful dancer. I couldn't help it.

When "The Chain" started, everyone was standing. However, when the band would play something other than their greatest hits, many "fans" would sit down. I wish people would have given songs like "Eyes of the World" and "Say Goodbye" a chance. It was easy to differentiate casual listeners from the loyal fans. It was great to see so many generations of fans dancing and singing together. Fleetwood Mac's music is really timeless. A highlight for me was when Stevie and Lindsey performed "Landslide". Afterwards, Lindsey hugged Stevie and gave her a kiss on the head. That was so sweet.

If you have any way to get to see Fleetwood Mac, Do it! No matter how much you spend it will be worth it.

The show was just awesome!

They played for a little under 2 hours and came back on stage for 2 encores. Total onstage time was 2 hours 20 minutes. Their energy was so high you could feel it. Lindsay Buckingham gave several impressive guitar solos. Stevie poured her heart in to Landslide and Stand Back. On Landslide, Stevie gave tender smiles when she sang I'm getting older too..., hinting to her acceptance of her age.

Mick Fleetwood gave an awesome drum solo during the encore that showcased his playful demeanor. The band, on a whole, gave great performances on Chain, Tusk, Don't Stop, Big Love, and Go Your Own Way. The new stuff was just as good. There was a great mix of songs done with back-up performers and with just the original band members. I felt as though I was getting Fleetwood at their best. They showcased versatility with their high-powered songs and with more acoustic versions of other songs.

What really impressed me was their respect for their fans. Whenever they performed a new song they would say "We are going to perform song (s) from our new album.....". They wanted the audience to be comfortable and knew it was a delicate situation for the fans. Yes Christine McVie was missed but they still rocked.

The highlight of the night for me was Stevie's performance of Stand Back. She gave a signature twirl. The energy went through the roof when that song came on. I could not stop dancing.

If I could go again I would in a heart beat!!

I had a blast!

They opened with The Chain and Dreams and mellowed out in the middle of the show, doing some of their new stuff and their slower songs. But they really tore the house down in the home stretch, and I was psyched to hear Stand Back, which I assumed was a no-go cause it's more Stevie's than the Mac's. Lindsey went nuts on I'm So Afraid and Go Your Own Way. And it was cool to hear Stevie sing lead on Don't Stop, although I miss Christine. Wish she was there, but it rocked the hizzy anyway.

Wonderful concert!

Saw Stevie last year at the Meadows in Hartford, and I must say I thought she moved a lot more last night. She belted out a powerful voice, but at times took her mouth far away from the mic and she faded. You could tell which songs she liked singing and which ones she just sang.

Lindsey was awesome. He was sooooo into being there last night. He sounded great and put his heart and soul into everything! He broke strings on several guitars, and probably woke up with sore fingers.

Mick is a blast to watch, what a fun guy! His vest solo is a riot and a great plus! I love his personality!

We were 3rd row on the floor. Lindsey signed a picture for the young woman in front of us at the end of the show.

I had never heard "Beautiful Child" before but I really liked it.

I would have to rate the concert a 4.5 out of 5. I would see them again and again and again!

Great show !

First time I've seen them.. and they did not miss a beat ! Lindsey acts like he's still 25, and he has every right to.. he's still got it, big time! That man can play ! Stevie's great (once she gets going). Mick is sooo into it and is fun to watch.. They had 2 girls singing backup (to replace Christine) which was fine with me.. they sounded just as good.

They did so many of my favorites.. I have to find the lyrics to Say Goodbye which Lindsey sang (and wrote) while Stevie backed up.. touching when they sang to each other.. Needless to say VERY poignant, given their backgrounds !

I've never heard Beautiful Child before, and I loved it so much I cried!

We were in Section 212, the sound could've been better, wish we were on the floor... Oh--- some guy jumped up on the stage, got a few dance moves in, security quickly pulled him by the shirt and he was gone. Not too bright, had he stayed he might have gotten a chance to touch Lindsey's guitar... he let the people in the front row come up and do that... really cool !
